There are two other Laurent Grégoires in the Universe. They are not me, and I'm none of them. One is an artistic agent, the other a well-known guru on logistics. So if you are looking for advices on how to get into the artistic business, or to become a railroad tycoon, do not contact me, but one of them. I'm dealing with computers and embedded systems, not lorries or actors.

Philosophy

This website is officialy supporting some useful (or less useful) groups or projects.

The GNU project for its wonderful, stable and efficient software, and the OpenSource ideas. The GNU and the FSF (Free Software Foundation) is aimed at supporting the concept of free software (free like 'freedom', not 'price'). This site and, more generally all personal documents, have been written using GNU and various free softwares running under the Linux kernel. The complete content of this site is released under the OpenContent licence.

These pages have been checked by the W3C validation service and are pure-HTML 4.01 compliant. We also strongly encourage the Any Browser activists for their campaign for a browser-independent internet. Lynx users are proudly welcomed, we garantee this site to be compliant with all browsers supporting HTML 4.01.

This entire web site has been produced using the WML scripting language. This powerful tool makes 9 passes on a wml script and allows all programmatic-features a nerd has always dreamed of, including macro expansion, embedded perl functions, file include, preprocessor define's, definition of new html tags, styles... and much more.

Personal interests

Some of them are related to computer science areas, like compilers and formal languages theory, mathematical games, embedded systems design and programming, OpenSource/Linux use and development, others are typography and the creation of high-quality documents using TeX/LaTeX.

Besides, I also like oil and watercolor painting, engraving, cats, sailing, beeing a car-free happy pedestrian and spending my time repairing my washing machine.

In my remaining spare time I'm taking care of the technical administration of plantkelt.net, a Linnaean & Celtic plant name database.

On the vi/emacs holly wars, I am a vi partisan (vim sub-culture). All pages and programs you can browse and download from this site have been edited under vim. emacs sucks. ;)
